What Does Duct Cleaning Involve?

The process of duct cleaning usually involves the following:

1. Inspection

The first step in commercial duct cleaning is a thorough inspection of the HVAC system to identify any areas that may require attention. This includes checking for signs of mould growth, blockages, damage to ducting or other issues.

2. Preparation

Before the cleaning process begins, the HVAC system is shut down, and any components that can be removed are taken out of the system. This includes registers, grilles, and air-handling unit components.

3. Cleaning

The cleaning process typically involves the use of specialised equipment, such as brushes and vacuums, to remove dust, dirt, and debris from the ductwork. Cleaning may also include the use of sanitising agents to kill any mould or bacteria that might be present in the system.

4. Reassembly

After the cleaning is complete, any removed components are reassembled, and the system is reconnected and restarted to ensure optimal airflow and indoor air quality.

How Often Do I Need to Get Ducts Cleaned?

The frequency of commercial duct cleaning will depend on a number of factors, including the type of business, the size of the premises, and how often the system is used.

As a general rule, it is recommended that commercial ductwork be cleaned at least once a year. However, some businesses may need to have their ducts cleaned more frequently.

LEV Cleaning

A Local Exhaust Ventilation system requires a regular annual programme of detailed LEV cleaning and examination in order to comply with current Health and Safety and COSHH regulations

LEV systems must be maintained in good working condition to effectively remove airborne pollutants from the workplace and dispose of them safely.

When we complete any LEV Testing, our work is underwritten with a certificate and a report of inspection is provided for every contract which you can retain as part of your required records.
